The Badilisha! Poetry X-Change is an ongoing project that celebrates the word through the concept of ‘badilisha’, a Kiswahili expression denoting change, exchange and transformation.

Badilisha Poetry X-Change has evolved into two annual live poetry events, which includes live performances, seminars and workshops, and a new internet-based radio station that showcases a range of poets from Africa and its Diaspora. The radio was launched, borne from the need to expand the profile of Africa’s poetry landscape and grow beyond the constraints of physical, live events.
