Kingdom Bank

Enlarge poem

Today I bank with kingdom bank
I walked in one day, asked for an audience with the CEO
They said I had to wait, observe protocol
No one saw the CEO without an audience with the manager first
I sat down and waited, had marketers corner me
Laying down information blocks brick by brick
At the end of the hour I admitted that I was found wanting
I needed an intervention, I had fallen out of favour
Other markets I had been routing for had me in debt, huge
Taxation and I was chronically living in debasement and I needed a saviour

After consulting and weighing my options
I made up my mind; I don’t want to be part of Global debt, liquidation
And financial repression, in this deregulated market I acknowledge that
I have missed the mark; I want you to manage my assets
Immediately a buzzer went off and the manager came out and said
My name is Jesus Christ, what can I do for you?
He had the loveliest voice, adorned with sincerity
Exuded honesty and trustworthiness
He was my way out, my salvation…I felt he would give his life for me.

I want to place my heart in your trust
To be withdrawn only when you feel that the maturation period has come
And to be entrusted to a trustee that will act for my best interests
I am glad you made this choice he said
From conception our plans concerning you have been to prosper you
And not to harm you
We give, give and give for your best interests
We are not averse to making a loss for your gain
I will personally assure you that I will go to hell and back for you
I will not allow fraud, deception and thieves to steal from you
I guarantee life and its abundance, as I execute business for you
I will give you a counsellor, an advocate, lawyer and helper to stand with you
To advise you and teach you, to lead you every step of the way
With confidence lay up your treasures with the kingdom and bank with
Where no thieves will break in and steal, where moth and rust
Cannot destroy

Convinced and immediately converted I smiled and said
How about I also bring all my valuables
He took my hand in a firm handshake and said
Where your treasure is there your treasure is also
Today I bank with Kingdom bank, it’s a family business
Father, son and the Holy Spirit
They lessen liabilities, collateral damage minimised
They unlike most banks cover life insurance, they have an afterlife
Into heaven called Eternity Incorporated
All you have to do is allow Jesus Christ to govern your life
Advise you on the appropriate currency to use
A currency that will stand the test of time going beyond this life
Guaranteeing you shares and equity, making you a stakeholder in eternity
Without faith this currency it is impossible to please God the CEO ergo
Forfeiting you the right to be adopted as a son or entrance into heaven
Today I Bank with kingdom bank
Are you struggling with death, spiritual bankrupsy, facing liquidation?
Talk to the manager, Jesus Christ can manage your assets, resurrect you life from
Wrong choices made, decisions made in haste with no counsel
He can exempt you from facing the penalty death spiral, taxation and debasement
All you do today is dial John 3vs 16
For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whomsoever
Believes in him should not perish but have eternal life
And follow Romans 10 vs 9-10
For it is with the heart that we believe and with our mouths that we confess that
Jesus Christ is Lord and are saved
I bank with Kingdom bank

Leave, Cleave and Weave

I was him and he was me
Each soul’s simple existence being the
Sole purpose of breathig in each others wants
And out each others needs
He was me and I was him
I never knew where he ended and I begun
Bone of his bone and flesh of his flesh
So intertwined and inseparable
We were twisted
Discovery bounced off each of us
He started sentences and I finished them
Reached for the same thing my mind was on
Our hands touching and flirting courting bliss
In every moment
Our thoughts so synchronised a transfixed gaze
Or gentle glance would communicate
So well across a room of hundreds
Seeing me meant seeing him and so the story went that
In absentia one represented both
And questions were not asked …there was no need
I was him and he was me
Currents of energy resonated and resounded off each of us
With eyes closed
I could tell he had walked into a room
So distinct was he that instinct picked him up
Like breathing, when troubled or extremely excited
He was my default
He was me and I was him
His mind my haven, my soul his retreat
His lap my comfort, my heart his home
We were both guilty of committing the same crime
Head over heels or heels over head in love
It was magic and tragic how no one else seemed to matter for company just us two
Our past time was exploring this God that had created such love
He had to be amazing because it was heaven
So a real heaven had to exist somewhere
The existence of such a father was believable because
A love like this had to be held up
By more than two hearts entwined thus shifting the trajectory of our lives
For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother
And cleave to his wife and the two shall
Become one…….flesh
I was him and he was me
Not glued together by lust but genuine affection and attention
Meaning his heart kept perfect pace with mine
In our silence we spoke the same language
Sekabantwana the father of my children
All He Man
Was strong sometimes just for my sake
Would hold it down so I wouldn’t break
He was me and I was him
His personality sweet, words didn’t count
To fill the gaps cause we were comfortable
Voids didn’t exist or chasms
Instead we had periods of bonding holding hands
Counting the stars
Crowds were fascinating cause
They kept us entertained with questions on how we
Could afford such a luxury, some wondered about fairytales and things being a
Thing of the past, so ignorant were they that when it’s right you don’t try too hard
But you work determinedly hard through each kink and crink
We were classic
He made it easy to be woman
And he grew all man because he had the right woman
He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord
Unkululnkulu had his ways of working miracles
All we knew was that somehow we were privileged
Yes some call it blessed, we were all that and more
Words when he said them were at the right time

Explaining why I married him
I do meant submitting, honouring, respecting and cherishing
This applied to us both no double standards
Being faithful to each other was not a question
Trust was second nature and doubt didn’t figure in our cards
Which wasn’t only emblematic but iconic
To some this perfect picture meant meeting the man of your dreams
Followed by his beautiful wife ironic
We never tried figuring this out because we had nothing to prove
Enhlizweni zethu siyakwazi we were meant to be
GOD had brought us together
He was me and I was him
Unbelievable yet amazingly clarifying that you could have it all
Then I woke up……..
