Spotlighting Pan-African Poetry

Let us elope together. There is a stone town on an island, with wooden window frames still relishing their color. They are undisturbed: touched only by the peelings away of time. History, there, is matured properly. The breezes are heavy and light, just like souls warring silently, until they are whistled out between buildings: possessing houses in whispers, through windows that will open up to their rumors that are matured by time into truth.
The old wooden window of my room is pushed apart open… and I relish the rumors… and the peelings away of time relinquish my right to be powerful, and become a story to be told.

Gratitude

Enlarge poem

Show gratitude for winning poetry back into your life. This, now I find, is my treasure: the source of envy for your enemies who are against you, because you are inscrutable and content. Never appeal to be less!

This is our discovery, that the man of gratitude draws to himself more desire and interest than the man of possessions. The foolish defeated run to claim gratitude as their shelter; that they did not plan to have more victory! But the wise conqueror knows when to stop conquering, because he is grateful.

To identify the point in life at which to be grateful is to identify one’s genuineness to define his purpose. This is for those who believe that death is inconsequential, because their ideals are of the human spirit, which is in constant resurrection.
