Biography:
Mwila Mambwe sought refuge in South Africa, fleeing the war-ravaged country of his birth. Originally from Lubumbashi, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, his personal journey of strife and overcoming adversity finds expression in his poetry, most notably in the compilation Coming from the Struggle.

Releif to my soul.

Peace to the waters,
Rivers and oceans.
Peace to the land,
Hills , mountains and valleys.
Peace to the birds of the field.
Eagles and vultures of the
Air.
Peace to the jungle of Africa.
Lions, antelopes, cats and dogs.
Peace between enemies.
Government troops and rebels.
Peace between us.
Tribes, races, nations, ethnic groups
And religions.
Peace to mankind, humankind, womankind.
Peace to the world,
Peace to Africa.
