Jamala Safari's earliest artistic exposure came in the form of theatre
at a young age in South Kivu, DRC.
He is the author of a collection of poems
called Tam-Tam sings, which he defines as an 'overflowing river of
memories and souvenirs of my half-life, half-heart, in brief, the half
left behind me in the country of my birth'. The other half reflects his
ambiguous feelings towards South Africa, his new country.
I won't go to the mountain
