X-Change

The Badilisha Poetry X-Change has significantly expanded its programme of workshops, seminars and discussions. This is in keeping with the project�s vision to deliver meaningful poetry interventions that involve exchange, dialogue. These interventions take place across the city with the invited poets bringing their wealth of skills and experience to each event.

Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives over the next 12 months are to:

    Expand the platforms and deepen the nature of engagement with African and African Diaspora poets and organisations;
  • Create new and viable opportunities for the promotion and sustainability of African and African Diaspora poetry;
  • Present a diversity of poetic voices, genres, languages to reflect contemporary trends and evolutions in the medium;
  • Draw attention to the social and political activist voice, present in the work of participating poets; and
  • Facilitate effective networking and skills transfer, through strategic live interventions, multi-layered exchanges and viable partnerships.
